DriveClub is available for purchase as a standard retail or digital download, or free-to-play for PlayStation Plus subscribers with the DriveClub PS Plus Edition.
DriveClub did not manage to launch alongside the PS4 hardware in November 2013 due to production delays that would eventually hold the game's release back until October 2014. For at least a week, online multiplayer was difficult to access due the game's servers being swamped by players. Evolution was forced to delay the release of the free-to-play PS Plus Edition version as it worked to alleviate load on DriveClub's servers during the launch week rush."
